The TY Danjuma Foundation (TYDF) under its Income Generation Programme has graduated the first set of youths to benefit from its Workplace Intelligent Nigerian Graduates (WINGS) programme – a project implemented by Afterschool Graduate Development Center (AGDC).

Chairman and founder of TYDF, Gen. TY Danjuma, the Board of Trustees and management of the Foundation attended the graduation which concluded with an awards ceremony of excellence in Benin, Edo State. The Chairman, in a brief remark noted that youth unemployment is a critical challenge facing Nigeria as a country. He added that any effort by anyone to reduce unemployment is key to national development. This informed the Foundation’s decision to support innovative youth development initiatives.

Commending the Foundation in its efforts in fighting unemployment, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of AGDC, Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, urged the 140 youths to be proud of being Nigerians, noting that in spite of challenges facing the country, Nigeria remained a great country. She also encouraged them to ensure they apply all the skills they have gained during the one year period of the training and teach same to other youths.
