EDUCATION PROGRAMME OFFICER
The programme officer will work closely with the Executive Director to implement the education goals of the Foundation’s strategic plan. The Officer should have a deep understanding of education system in Nigeria and best practices for improvement. The Officer should have a strong education evaluation and research background, and understand program development within the educational sector in Nigeria and put these into practical use in a grant making.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to achieve the Foundation’s grant making goal;
- Review and respond to enquiries on education and offer professional advice to potential grantees;
- Work with grantees to develop and modify strategies to effectively utilise available resources while fulfilling program goals;
- Assess grantees progress reports and maintain effective relationship with education grantees;
- Organize and coordinate meetings with stakeholders;
- Keep up to date with developments in the educational fields in Nigeria and related public policy;
- Work with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to assess grants on education;
- Represent the Foundation at meetings with policy makers;
Requirements
- Minimum of First Degree in Education or any relevant field;
- Experience with grant making and policy analysis and development on education
- Track record of leading and managing research in education;
- Deep knowledge of evidenced based education research and principles of replicating and scaling successful educational models
- Proven ability to define programme objectives and evaluate progress to independently manage related projects through a complete lifecycle;
- Excellent writing skills and capacity to write and design complex programme document.
- Interest and willingness to travel.
