OBITUARY-Prof. Jean Frances Herskovits Corry (May 1935 – February 2019)

It is with regret and profound sadness that the TY Danjuma Foundation announces the death of one of its founding trustees – Prof. Jean Herskovits Corry on February 5, 2019 in New York, USA. Prof. Jean Herskovits Corry served on the Programmes Committee of the Board since its inception in 2009, where she provided strategic oversight on the implementation of education projects.


TY Danjuma Foundation to Unveil Projects for 2019 Grants Year

The TY Danjuma Foundation is set to unveil its grantees and projects that will be implemented across States in Nigeria in the 2019 grant cycle on February 6, 2019. On this day, the Foundation will also announce the total grants amount to fund Health and Education intervention while highlighting the focus areas of the interventions across Nigeria.

The Foundation started the 2019 grant cycle with a Call for Concept Notes in 2018. The Call was followed by a rigorous selection process which ended with a final approval by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

TY Danjuma Foundation in partnership with Pro-Health International brings free one week medical outreach to Wukari

TY Danjuma Foundation sponsored one-week free medical outreach in partnership with Pro-Health International  will take place at the General Hospital Wukari, Taraba State. The outreach will commence on the 24 to 29th September. 

It will provide; 

  1. Free medical Consultations
  2. Free General and specialised surgeries 
  3. Free Laboratory Tests
  4. Free eye care and surgeries
  5. Free Dental Care
  6. Free medications


TY Danjuma Foundation in partnership with CAVSI provide free eye screening for primary and secondary schools in Abudu, Orhonnmwon LGA of Edo State

“I first discovered I could not see very well when I was in primary 4, I had to sit in front to be able to see what was written on the board. When reading, I must hold the book close to my eyes and it pained my eyes very well”.
